Coral, Bryozoa, trilobytes and other ancient fossils can be unearthed at the Fossil Valley excavation area. Hammers, goggles, buckets and glove rentals are included. Students can take their discovered fossils home with them.

This National Natural Monument is Japan's largest jade deposit. Massive boulders of raw jadeite can be seen naturally strewn about in the currents of the Kotakigawa River. The massive limestone face of Mt. Myojo towering above the gorge is a sight not to be missed! The nearby Jade Gorge Fishing Park offers visitors a chance to try mountain fishing and enjoy freshly caught trout and other fish at outdoor firepits.

This park features an exposed section of the Itoigawa-Shizuoka Tectonic Line, a massive a fault line which splits Japan between two continental plates. The park also features one of Japan's largest pillow lava formations.
